Community college transfer students in Computer Science often arrive at four-year institutions with limited lower-division coursework counting toward their degree requirements, resulting in course duplication and extended time to degree.
In response to this challenge, the UCI ICS Office of Outreach, Access & Inclusion in collaboration with the Foundation for California Community Colleges, the California Community College Chancellor's Office, and the Program Pathways Mapper, is pleased to invite you to participate in an upcoming conference focused on strengthening Computer Science transfer pathways.
This in-person conference will be held at UC Irvine on April 17–18, 2026 and will convene key stakeholders across segments to collaboratively improve Computer Science articulation agreements.
The overarching objective is to reduce course duplication and accelerate degree completion for transfer students through intentional alignment and cross-institutional collaboration.
The conference goals include:
Mapping current Computer Science transfer pathways across institutions
Identifying courses that are not currently articulated
Discussing barriers and considerations related to non-articulated courses
Developing actionable items to improve articulation and alignment moving forward
