Clemson University, USA
Dr. Hugo Sanabria is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University. He graduated from Tec of Monterrey, Mexico, with a B.S. in Physics Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Houston and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Health Science Center and Heinrich Heine University, Germany. His work focuses on single-molecule biophysics, fluorescence spectroscopy and FRET to study the structure and conformational dynamics of proteins.
Institut Pasteur Montevideo, Uruguay
Dr. Leonel Malacrida holds a Ph.D. in Biology (Biochemistry option) from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. He completed his postdoctoral research in Biophysics/Biomedical Engineering at the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics, University of California at Irvine. His research spans intracellular biophysics and the study of energy metabolism, applying hyperspectral imaging, Phasor plots, and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), addressing quantitative biology.
Universidad de Chile, Chile
Dr. Exequiel Medina González is a Professor at the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Chile. He olds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Chile in 2018. His research focuses on intrinsically disordered proteins, particularly those involved in regulating eukaryotic gene expression. Applying biophysical techniques, including single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy, he has characterized the structural dynamics and local flexibility of human trascription factors.
