About The Program
The bands at Chadds Ford and Pocopson Elementary Schools are comprised of fourth and fifth graders who play woodwind, brasswind, and percussion instruments. Students are pulled for a half hour small group lesson once every 6 school days, as well as 1-2 full band rehearsals at recess every 6 school days.
Any fourth or fifth grade student regardless of musical background can elect to play an instrument. If your child is not enrolled in the band program and would like to be, please feel free to contact me.
About Mr. Miller
Mr. Miller has been the band director at Pocopson Elementary School and Chadds Ford Elementary School in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District since 2002. I have a B.S. in Music Education from West Chester University (1996) and a Masters in Education with content focus on middle grades mathematics from Walden University (2011). Other musical endeavors include singing & playing guitar at many venues in the tri-state area and arranging & composing original works of music for concert & jazz bands.
Other interests of mine include spending time with family and friends, boating, skiing, kayaking, playing & watching ice hockey (Lets Go Pens!), attending sporting events, riding roller coasters, bowling, rock climbing, boating, technology, and trying new adventurous things.
