Our lab focuses on plant development, growth, and evolution using various models, crops, and bioenergy organisms such as maize, sorghum, wheat, and arabidopsis. We use cutting-edge single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics approaches to identify key genes and regulatory elements in plant development, growth, and evolution. We functionally characterize the mechanism of these key regulators using a combination of reverse genetics, CRISPR genome editing, and molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches. Our ultimate goal is to understand these regulators in development, growth, and evolution, with the potential to engineer them for crop improvement.
