"The HEI Summer Fellowship Program aims to encourage rising juniors and seniors to explore research opportunities in the environmental health sciences. The program supports highly qualified undergraduate students who would not otherwise have a similar opportunity. Each summer, fellows are matched with a research mentor to pursue a tailored environmental health project. Environmental health fields are defined broadly and include environmental exposure assessment, epidemiology, and public health among other areas."
Requirements:
Must be a college junior or senior the fall after the fellowship
Must be authorized to work in the United States
The program requires about 40 hours per week over the fellowship period, and fellows should not be taking more than one summer class
This fellowship is intended as a first or early research experience for students for whom this will be a unique experience

"LCGM’s projects represent diverse therapeutic modalities including hematopoietic stem cells and host alloantigen-specific regulatory T cells to prevent Graft versus Host Disease, genetically engineered immune cells (T-cells) for cancer immunotherapy and complex immune syndromes and CRISPR gene correction for sickle cell disease amongst others. The LCGM Summer Program offers a 10-week exciting opportunity to learn from world class scientists who support translational medicine. The successful applicant will learn from and practice skills on challenging projects in any one of the following roles: Process Development & Manufacturing or Quality Assurance or Quality Control."
Requirements:
Be 18 years of age or older at the time of application
Be a current undergraduate sophomore or junior enrolled in a four-year college or university
Be pursuing a STEM discipline (all roles require a STEM background except Quality Assurance, which accepts both STEM and non-STEM majors)
Be available to intern on-site for 8 hours per day, 5 days per week for the full 10-week program
Participate in all program activities, including orientation, enrichment opportunities, and the final internship presentation

"The MPL Summer Internship program is a paid eight-week research program where students complete their own individual research project under the mentorship of some of the most notable scientists in the world. In addition to their research, students will attend weekly seminars, participate in hands-on activities, and more. Undergraduate college students majoring in oceanography, applied mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, geology and related majors are encouraged to apply."
Requirements:
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled in their second or third year of undergraduate status. Senior year undergrads, former MPL interns, and high school applicants are not eligible.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as of the internship start date.
Applicants must be available to start in June 2026 and work 40 hours/week for entire duration of the internship.

"Summer interns work in a research group directed by a Principal Investigator (PI). We offer research opportunities in the biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences with opportunities to explore basic, translational, and clinical research. Students interested in biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, and other health-related fields are invited to apply. Summer interns may not work in administrative offices or outside of the NIH IRP."
Requirements:
enrolled at least half-time as a senior in high school at the time of application and have graduated high school before the start of the internship.
18 years old by September 30, 2026. If you are a graduating high school senior who will be 17 years old as of June 1, 2026 but will turn 18 by September 30, 2026, your permanent home address must be located within 40 miles of an NIH campus.
