The central goal of our research is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of 

synapse formation and refinement in the cerebral cortex during development and in disease.  

Our research has four fundamental goals described below.

We use an arsenal of approaches, including development of new techniques,

to address these questions both in vivo and in vitro.
