Graduate Students: The Language Learning Lab isn't accepting new graduate students this year.
Undergraduate Students:
As a research assistant, you will be aiding and working with Dr. Katharine Graf Estes and involved graduate students to run the lab! We typically require a minimum commitment of three quarters (10 hours per week, 100 hours total). There are weekly lab meetings that are facilitated by Dr. Graf Estes. You will be trained to manage and code for studies that investigate how monolingual and bilingual babies interpret speech sounds, learn object labels, recognize unfamiliar sounds, and much more. From joining our lab, students may benefit from earning academic units, leadership and project opportunities, and networking opportunities among graduate students and other faculty in the field. Students typically receive elective credits (e.g., PSC199) for lab work. Research assistants are also given the chance to participate in the annual Undergraduate Research Conference in the Spring Quarter.
If you have any questions, feel free to email our graduate student, Lab Manager, Ruby Lara at langlabmanager@ucdavis.edu, or our principal investigator at kgrafestes@ucdavis.edu. Please refer to the files below for the detailed list of requirements and information, as well as the application form.
