I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis.
My research is centered in agriculture industrial organization, with a focus on understanding the role supply chain shocks and eco-labels play in determining prices in the era of food inflation. My work to date seeks to extend the scope of the price transmission and product differentiation literatures using applied time series econometrics.
My teaching is motivated by my love for learning. Learning is an inherently vulnerable activity, one that requires students to take intellectual risks and challenge their assumptions. To support this, I prioritize building trust through respectful, inclusive classroom environments. Creating such spaces is a necessary foundation for the kind of critical engagement and thought-provoking inquiry that leads to meaningful learning. My goal as an educator is not only to communicate knowledge, but to empower students to take ownership of their intellectual development.
