Support the Team

The Fencing Club at UC Davis will officially be competing at nationals this year - our second time attending in the club’s history! The United States Association of Collegiate Fencing Clubs (CFCs) will be hosting the national competition in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 1-2, 2023. Last year, our men’s epee squad took home a silver medal, and our womens’ foil took home a bronze!

Our club has suddenly received an incredible opportunity to work with former Olympic fencer, Marcos Lucchetti, who is willing to coach our CFCs team this year. Marcos Lucchetti as a fencer competed in the Olympics in Moscow and as a coach has coached for several of the best NCAA teams including Ohio State and Princeton. With formal training and coaching, we will be well-placed to take home gold medals across multiple weapons this year.

Unfortunately, this opportunity is not without its costs. While we do receive some funding from the University which covers our basic equipment and running costs, due to the unexpected nature of this opportunity, the coaching fees are outside of our planned budget. We are hoping to reach our goal of raising $5,000 to help subsidize our travel costs to Indiana, as well as coaching costs, at least until nationals.
