Hi, I am Chutong Wu, a PhD student in the mathematics department at UC Davis. My advisor is Alexander Soshnikov. My research interest is random matrix theory, probability theory, mathematical physics, and Combinatorics. My current research focuses on determinantal point processes and random matrix ensembles on spheres, studying fluctuations of linear statistics and mesoscopic asymptotics in geometric settings.
Broadly, I am interested in problems at the intersection of probability, analysis, and mathematical physics, especially those involving spectral behavior in high-dimensional or geometric settings. This includes random matrix ensembles on manifolds, determinantal processes, interacting particle systems, and fluctuation phenomena in complex or structured random environments. I am also drawn to connections with applied and computational areas where spectral and probabilistic methods play a central role, such as random operators, high-dimensional statistics, data-driven models, and analytic techniques arising in statistical mechanics and integrable systems.
