August 17th: 6 am train, walk around like zombies, really cool fortress, where is the magical theater?, check into hostel, have a beer with the best view ever.
Our train left at 6:08 AM in the morning, it was a long day but we really did maximize our time here.
We took a gondola up the side of the hill to the fortress!
Our Hostel!
Me at the top of the fortress!
Honestly the view from the fortress alone was worth it
Look at this massive pretzel I got in front of the fortress!
I will never get over that this is the most gorgeous beer view I have ever had. 10/10 I will return someday
This Stiegl biergarten at the base of the fortress is the best I have ever been to, in terms of views.
August 18th: Salt mines tour, I went to Germany?, Where is the bus, Julie Andrews was in these gardens, best quality beer garden food yet, omg it's raining really hard, FLIP happy hour, it's still really raining.
Salt Mines tour, this was probably the best-guided tour I have ever been on
We got to go down three different slides!
Under the mountain, we crossed the border into Germany!
I cannot reccommend this tour enough to people, so worth it!
Here is me and Anna. It rained pretty much the rest of the day, but it made everything more of an adventure.
I didn't realize that THIS, Mirabell Garden was the garden that the Sound of Music was filmed in, until after we had left.
Julie Andrews was literally in this garden! What a historic site to be.
The menu advertised this as the best pork roast in town, and they werent lying. 10/10. Best thing I had here.
A Classic sausage and potatoes Viennese dish.
FLIP!! Best Happy Hour and great music. I wish I lived near a Flip
We miscalculated the bus schedule and were slightly stuck coming home from the salt mines.
August 19th: Morning beer tour, gross beer, sexy pretzel, wait do you think we have enough stuff? let's buy more, train to Vienna.
Today we did a beer tour at the Stiegl brewery.
Very informative, and we got four beers with the tour. Except three of those beers were disgusting.
I bought so many souveniers here, minus the gross beer the tour was so fun!
We finished our trip with more souvenir shopping and walking downtown. At 6pm we finally got on our train back to Vienna.
Successful weekend and I am so happy I got to come to Salzburg!
