Below is a brief description of the workshops offered at this year's Project Leader Clinic. We will keep adding to this list as we confirm more workshop sessions.
The required 4-H Annual Project Plan can seem overwhelming for leaders. This workshop offers a space to practice developing project plans for each of the projects you lead. With guided assistance, you will leave the workshop with drafts of your 4-H Annual Project Plan completed.
This workshop helps you feel more confident in planning projects. You will get a toolbox filled with basics for building complete and successful projects, increasing youth participation, and encouraging youth leadership. You’ll also learn how to create a schedule that everyone can enjoy.
The session provides a simple framework for both new and experienced leaders to make their projects more fun and engaging. You’ll get a paper toolbox to fill with "tools" for improving project development. Then, you will use these tools to "build" your house, which represents the framework for project success.
This workshop is about helping kids feel good about their ethnic backgrounds. You'll learn why a positive ethnic identity is important and see how our day camp started and how it’s going now. We’ll also show you how we made it fun and hands-on for afterschool clubs. This workshop aims to improve programs and support kids from all backgrounds.

We’ll talk about the benefits of participating, both for you and your projects. You’ll also learn about the different competition categories and how they connect to various projects. We’ll cover how to prepare, whether you’re making or buying your entry, and how to keep and report records. Plus, you’ll find out how to prepare your presentations and how they will be evaluated. This workshop will help you succeed in your Fashion Revue journey!
All youth need to feel included in a meaningful way in 4-H. Fun activities that build connections between leaders and youth, as well as among peers, are important for creating this sense of belonging. This workshop will explore different types of group activities that use fun intentionally to foster belonging in your project. You’ll engage in team-building examples and leave with new activities to use with your group. Learn how to make your project meetings more inclusive and engaging for everyone!
This workshop is all about exploring exciting math activities in a hands-on way. Although 4-H doesn't have specific math projects, this session fills that gap with engaging projects. Dive into topics like shapes, Mӧbius strips, stitching curves, Sierpinski triangles, and the Koch snowflake. You'll get to try out these activities yourself and see how math can be both fun and relevant to STEM!
In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the Project Learning Tree (PLT) program and its materials. You’ll experience activity demos and a presentation about PLT offerings, learning how to create projects focused on Sustainability, Stewardship, and Ecology. The session will include a discussion about environmental education, an activity on what trees mean to you, and demonstrations of selected PLT activities. You’ll also get information on opportunities for youth in green jobs and environmental education. Discover how you can connect youth with the environment through engaging and educational projects!
This workshop is about merging science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) with social emotional learning (SEL) through Sphero Soccer. You'll get a complete walkthrough of the Sphero Soccer level-1 curriculum and learn how to incorporate this exciting project at a county-wide level. Enhance your programs with this innovative blend of robotics and learning!
This interactive session is perfect for those interested in boosting engagement with youth in leadership roles such as junior and teen leaders, teen teachers, officers, and more. This session will teach you how to collaborate effectively with youth leaders and help them set and achieve their goals. Through hands-on activities and insightful discussions, you'll explore the benefits and challenges of youth leadership, learn from the "Checklist for Youth and Adults Working Together," and understand key leadership competencies and the "GPS System." By the end, you'll have new strategies to make your projects more engaging and ensure the success of young leaders.
