Dear Parents,
We’re excited to share that the athletics program at the Upper School is in full swing! Tryouts have wrapped up, practices are underway, and regular season games are either starting soon or already in progress. This is a truly exciting time as our athletes get back on the field, court and ice to showcase their talents and hardwork.
On Sept. 28, UCC will be sending most teams to St. Andrew’s College (SAC) for their homecoming. This event will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy all that sport has to offer while rekindling a storied rivalry. The following weekend, on Oct. 5, SAC will return the favour by sending their teams to UCC for our A-Day, setting the stage for two consecutive weekends of high-calibre sports. This will be an event not to be missed.
For Year 8 students who are not currently on a team, intramurals will begin this week, running from Monday to Wednesday after school. It’s a wonderful chance for them to stay active and engaged.
Additionally, our junior house ultimate frisbee and senior house soccer leagues have commenced during flex time. These activities provide a great way for students in both the senior and junior divisions to get involved in their house and meet peers across various grades and in different houses.
We are also proud to announce that our fall rowing team is preparing two boats for the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Oct. 20. This is a remarkable opportunity for our rowers to represent the College on a global stage and showcase their talent.
Lastly, we have transitioned from GameOn Livestream to Hudl Livestream this year. Hudl offers enhanced features such as detailed stat breakdowns, film sharing, and a user-friendly interface, ensuring a seamless experience for viewing home games at the Oval turf field and Lett gyms.
Thank you for your continued support of our athletics program. We look forward to an exciting and successful season!
Yours in sport,
David Brown
