Cooper’s Corn Maze

In the dark, with farm trivia to solve and wearing headlamps to lead their way, UCC and BSS students took on the challenge of finding their way through a 10-acre corn maze! When we arrived, a mist hung over the field, intriguing our students, and giving the evening a movie-like atmosphere. Our students formed ‘buddies’ which led to teams, and they were ready to face the maze! As they made their choices of which way to go, there was competition for who would be the first to find the right way out, and lots of camaraderie while they explored. With their great sense of direction, the students found their way through the maze and ended their journeys at the farm market. There they were able to pick out a pumpkin each to bring back to UCC with them. Our students enjoyed the fresh air in the countryside, laughed with friends from both schools and expressed their feelings of accomplishment. The night finished with delicious hot chocolate and cookies.

Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland

The excitement of the Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland began well before the students even arrived at the park. The night kicked off with a heartwarming display of camaraderie as students from Upper Canada College and Bishop Strachan School gathered together for a pre-event meetup at UCC. Dinner was another delightful aspect of the evening. The students came together to enjoy a hearty meal, reinforcing the sense of togetherness. As they sat around tables, they shared stories and discussed their Halloween Haunt strategies. There was an air of anticipation and excitement as they fueled up for the adventure ahead.

With the energy levels high and the bonds among students solidified, it was time to embark on their journey to Canada's Wonderland. The excitement in the air was palpable as they boarded buses and made their way to the amusement park. The bus ride was full of music and even more enjoyment as students from each school bonded over their joint love and appreciation for Taylor Swift and Rihanna. The night was just beginning, and everyone was ready for the thrilling, hair-raising experience that awaited them.

The eerie atmosphere of Canada's Wonderland (usually known for its thrilling rides and family fun) was transformed into a realm of ghosts, ghouls, and all things Halloween. As the sun set and the moon took centre stage, the students embarked on a journey filled with adrenaline-pumping rides, haunted mazes, and terrifyingly entertaining shows. The screams of delight echoed through the amusement park as brave students faced their fears, taking on hair-raising roller coasters and venturing into the dark unknown of haunted houses. The atmosphere was electric with the Halloween spirit as students donned costumes that ranged from classic monsters to creative and humorous characters. The event provided an excellent opportunity for students from different schools to come together, bond, and create lasting memories. Friendships were forged, and the spirit of unity and camaraderie prevailed throughout the night. Sharing laughter, screams, and spooky experiences, the students discovered the joys of Halloween in good company.

As the clock neared midnight, it was time to bid farewell to the haunted thrills and head back to Upper Canada College. The journey back was filled with animated discussions, storytelling, and a sense of accomplishment for conquering their fears. The memories created during this Halloween adventure will undoubtedly become cherished tales for years to come. The Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland was more than just a night of scares and screams; it was a night of unity, friendship, and the celebration of the boarding community at Upper Canada College. 

The memories created this past weekend will undoubtedly be cherished by the students for years to come, and they eagerly await the next adventure that awaits them in the vibrant world of boarding life at Upper Canada College.
