Students received an email with links from Ms. Lopez to urge them to schedule a meeting with their university counsellors. Meetings started on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Students can book meetings during advising, Flex Time, before and after school, gym hours, seminar, career studies, music (except during a test).
Contact the Counselling Office: If the provided dates and times don't work for them, they can contact Ms. Lopez directly to schedule an appointment.
When applying to postsecondary education, students and parents can find themselves grappling with the weighty decision of selecting the right program. We often assume that this important decision will open the door to a singular occupation that will determine the future of our entire career. However, the reality is that most careers are not linear, and the skills and knowledge gained from various academic disciplines can be applied to an array of occupations.

Laurier Scholars Award
Year 12 students who have applied to Wilfrid Laurier University are encouraged to explore the Laurier Scholars Award. Seven students will be selected to receive this $40,000 entrance scholarship. The award includes $7,500 per year for up to four years and an experiential learning award of $10,000. Students are selected for the Laurier Scholars Award based on their academic achievement (an admission average of 90% or higher) and their submitted application. Applications are due on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Interested students are encouraged to check out the website or speak with their counsellor for more information.
McMaster Engineering Entrance Scholarships
Year 12 students who applied to engineering at McMaster University are encouraged to explore their entrance scholarships. Only one application is required to be considered for all eligible Faculty of Engineering entrance scholarships. Applications are due on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Interested students are encouraged to check out the website for more information or speak with their counsellor.
McEuen Scholarship at St. Andrews (Scotland)
Year 12 students who are applying to St. Andrews in Scotland are encouraged to explore the McEuen Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a resident Canadian citizen and is renewable based on academic and extracurricular achievement. The scholarship covers all tuition and residence fees and includes a book allowance of £200. The application can be found online and is due on Friday Jan. 31.
McGill University Major Entrance Scholarships
Year 12 students who are applying to McGill University are encouraged to explore the major entrance scholarships. Interested students should review the estimated minimum academic requirements published by McGill. Applications are due on Friday, Feb. 7 and students can explore the website for further information or speak with their counsellor.
Dalhousie Entrance Scholarships
Year 12 students who are applying to Dalhousie University are encouraged to apply for the Dalhousie Entrance Award/Scholarship program by completing the General Entrance Award application available in the application portal after applying. These are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and cultural identity. Please note, a small number of awards do require a separate application. Applications are due on Saturday, Feb. 15 and interested students should explore the website or speak with their counsellor for more information.
Babson College Weissman Scholarship
Year 12 students interested in Babson College are encouraged to explore the Weissman Scholarship Program. The Weissman Scholarship Program provides four-year, full-tuition scholarships plus financial support for scholars to develop their unique talents and pursue their personal passions. Weissman Scholars at Babson College are leaders who already enjoy distinction in their schools and communities. They have earned grades in their secondary school that place them among the top students in their programs. They have demonstrated a passion for intellectual, creative, and entrepreneurial pursuits, and have a vision for how Babson and the Weissman Scholarship Program can help further dreams, for themselves and the world.
Selection for the Weissman Scholarship is based on the following criteria:
Academic excellence and intellectual passion
Great distinction in leadership activities
Strength of vision for how their goals can be fulfilled at Babson with the support of the Weissman Scholarship Program.
Applications are due on Saturday, Feb. 1 and more information can be found on their website.
