On Saturday, our students embarked on a thrilling rock climbing adventure at the Toronto Climbing Academy. They harnessed their inner adventurers and scaled the climbing walls, mentally and physically challenging themselves. It was a day filled with adrenaline, teamwork and personal growth as they conquered new heights together.
Sunday was all about giving back to the community. In collaboration with the Bishop Strachan School and Branksome Hall, our students came together for a noble cause - raising money for the Children's Aid Foundation. They organized a community car wash event, rolling up their sleeves and working diligently to make vehicles shine. The generosity and commitment of our students shone through as they raised funds to support a worthy cause that benefits children in need.
To conclude the weekend on a high note, our boarding houses engaged in a spirited ultimate frisbee competition for the RAO Cup. The competition was friendly yet fiercely competitive as students from different houses showcased their athletic prowess and sportsmanship. Laughter, cheers, and camaraderie filled the air as everyone participated enthusiastically. Wedd’s came out victorious with an 11-6 win, taking the Rao Cup standings to 2-0 for Wedd’s. We feel a Seaton’s comeback is on the horizon. Up next is Rao Cup Softball in a few weeks!
The weekend at UCC was a perfect blend of adventure, community engagement, and healthy competition. Our students challenged themselves and contributed to a meaningful cause, reinforcing the values of empathy and teamwork that our school stands for. It was a weekend filled with memorable moments that will be cherished by all who participated.
Our boarders and their day school peers participated in the Terry Fox Run last Friday. They enjoyed cheering each other on as they completed the course both on and off the UCC campus. It was a wonderful community event on a beautiful sunny Friday! The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held around the world to raise money for cancer research in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.
