Our varsity team had incredible success this past week in St. Catherines as they represented the College at the CAIS Sr. Boys Soccer Tournament. They had a fantastic showing in the group stage portion, going 2-0-1 in their pool, earning a shot at the gold medal. Their first post group stage competition was against a strong LCC team who was also top of their pool at 2-0-1. Coaches Paschalides and Scatozza are incredibly proud of the grit and determination that the team showed as they battled back from a 2-1 deficit to start the second half, finishing with a 3-2 victory. Next they faced a very strong Crescent team in the semi-finals. It was an incredibly tight game with chances from both sides, but by the end of regulation no one could best the defenses and goalkeepers for either team earning a 0-0 draw. This forced overtime. Ultimately, the team ended up losing 1-0 in a penalty shootout to the eventual CAIS champions.
