We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Max Ishida Memorial Music Fund, generously initiated by Mr. Eugene Vinogradov and Ms. Naoko Ishida, parents of Max Ishida โ26 and Nicholas Ishida โ32. This fund is a tribute to Max's memory and his passion for music and creativity that will leave a lasting impact on our school community. Max, who was in Year 10, passed away in August 2023 as a result of a tragic accident.
The Max Ishida Memorial Music Fund will enhance and support our music department and celebrate student achievements in design, with a particular emphasis on digital media and cinematography. Max not only displayed a strong interest in these areas but also showcased his exceptional talents, bringing his unique vision and creativity to life.
This fund will pave the way for significant enhancements within our music program in the areas of musical instruments and technology, ensuring that our students have access to high-quality resources that nurture their artistic talents and technical skills.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Eugene Vinogradov and Ms. Naoko Ishida for their generous support, and we join them and all who knew Max in remembering him. Those who wish to honour Max with a donation can contribute to the fund here. Your support is greatly appreciated and contributes to nurturing the next generation of creative minds. Thank you.

Our recent exchange to France was nothing short of extraordinary. From exploring iconic landmarks to immersing ourselves in the rich culture of this beautiful country, every moment was filled with excitement and learning. Join us as we take you through the highlights of our unforgettable adventure.
Looking ahead 2024โ25
Next year, students will have the chance to embark on one of two incredible french exchange adventures. For fluent French speakers, we offer a five-week academic stay for two Year 7 and two Year 8 Enriched French students. This immersive experience includes a reciprocated billeting experience and will develop exceptional second language skills.ย ย
Alternatively, for those seeking an enriching cultural and language exchange, we renew our offer of a two-week reciprocal March Break exchange. Open to five Year 6, five Year 7, and five Year 8 students, this program offers a unique opportunity to live with host families in France, attend school at Ermitage International School for half days, while experiencing the local way of life firsthand. In April, participating families will host a French student in Toronto.
Interested in either opportunity? Send a letter of interest to plabancz@ucc.on.ca to receive an emailed application form for your family. Don't miss out on these unforgettable experiences!
Warm regards,
Peter Labancz
