Our first Friday evening after the winter break brought Toronto's first big snowfall of the season, and no one was more excited to welcome it than our boarders. They took to the Quad, building a pretty impressive snowman and enjoyed an energetic and friendly snowball fight. Many then made their way to Seaton's Common Room and warmed up with pizza and a good old-fashioned sing-along. A wonderful way to kick off the start to the year!
This weekend, UCC boarding took a proactive step in prioritizing student safety by organizing an exclusive First Aid Training Course for its student body. The program, facilitated by certified VitalSigns Toronto professionals, provided hands-on learning experiences covering crucial life-saving skills such as CPR, wound care and basic life support. The school's commitment to empowering students with practical knowledge not only equips them with essential life skills but also instills a sense of responsibility and preparedness.
Over the weekend, UCC boarding also hosted an exciting in-house basketball tournament, pitting students against each other in spirited competition. The event promoted camaraderie and unity as students were grouped into teams, fostering cross-grade friendships. With a focus on sportsmanship, the matches showcased impressive basketball skills while maintaining a respectful atmosphere. Beyond the court, the tournament contributed to a newly developed boarding competition that will go on for the rest of the year. In essence, this basketball tournament exemplified a commitment to student development and a strong, spirited community.
