Team members may start by identifying a theme or a “spark” related in some way to mental health and wellbeing. The theme can be a word, but it can also be an image, a sound, or a smell. Each team member will reflect on the theme, paying close attention to any memories or feelings the theme evokes. Individuals will then choose a medium that they will use to create an art piece symbolizing the theme and their individual relationship to the theme. After each team member has individually created their work, they reconvene as a team on Zoom (video and sound turned on), then perform/share their creations in whatever order they decide. The team members can name their video. This will be the video that they share with other team members. The video should be no longer than five minutes. Each team will then share the link to the Zoom recording on Padlet.
Example: The Fear Gallery
Team member 1 plays a short piece of music expressing the musician’s fear (no more than one minute)
Team member 2 creates a drawing or painting about fear.
Team member 3 creates a poem about fear.
Team member 4 creates a movement/dance about fear.
Team number 5 creates a story about fear.
Deadline: March 4
What do I have to achieve?
You will enhance your cultural and communication skills through group discussion.
Instructions
In teams, discuss what mental health challenges you and/or your peers experience (e.g. being overwhelmed, text anxiety, social anxiety, depression, etc). Your team will then collaboratively identify a theme for your final arts-based project and determine the art medium each team member will utilize in the final project.
Deliverables
Each team will upload a PDF document showing their chosen theme and the chosen art medium for each team member.
Each individual will upload a post reflecting on the teamwork.
Deadline: March 11
Instructions
This week each team will work to create their individual components to the group exhibit. Teams should be in regular communication so that each member is kept informed of the progress of other members and the team can work together to troubleshoot any problems that arise.
Deliverables
Each individual will upload a post reflecting about their progress on Padlet.
Deadline: March 16
Instructions
Each individual will complete their portion of the exhibit and the team will work together to record the group exhibition no later than March 15. We recommend hosting a group Zoom in which each member shares their contribution in a pre-determined order. The Zoom should be recorded and the recording link posted on Padlet no later than 10am on March 16.
We will all meet on Zoom on March 16 at 3pm Honduran time/4pm CST. Each group will play their recording, discuss their process, and answer audience questions.
