About Our Chapter

This student organization is a portion of the American Chemical Society and strives to better our campus and local communities while educating them about chemistry. UCA ACS provides several outreach, professional development, and recreational opportunities to create lifelong friendships and stimulate personal growth within our chapter members. Additionally, our chapter works closely with our department and explains chemistry at events through a wide variety of entertaining demonstrations!

Our chapter is known for participating in and holding several outreach, social, and professional development events. We attempt to provide our members with the opportunity to give back to the community by offering several volunteer events such as UCA’s Girl Power in STEM, Science Nights at local high schools, helping Conway High school start their own local chapter, and more! ACS also strives to build its members’ professional abilities through our resume workshop, Research Round robin, industry tours, National Meeting every spring, and external speakers! Additionally, the chapter hopes to impact members with relationships that will last indefinitely through our ice cream socials, murder mystery parties, and ACS Program in a Box activities.

If you are interested in chemistry or what our organization offers and would like to join our chapter, scan the QR code on the "Upcoming Events" page for the group me sign up sheet! GroupMe is our primary form of communication where we send meeting invites as well as important information on volunteer and social events. You can also stay up to date with our chapter by following any of the social media outlets we use or checking this website! If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of our current officers by email or through GroupMe, and we will be more than happy to answer!
