Channarong Puchongkawarin received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2016 under the supervision of Dr. Benoit Chachuat and Prof. David Stuckey. He holds an MSc degree in Chemical engineering from Imperial College London and B.Eng. from Kasetsart University in Thailand.

As a lecturer at the Department of Chemical engineering, Ubon Ratchathani University, his research focuses on applications in the field of process design and operation with the purpose of developing economically and environmentally sustainable processes, including wastewater treatment plants, waste management systems, micro-algae, organic ranking cycle (ORC).

Superstructure optimization

Superstructure optimization is an efficient method for the design of new processes. The superstructure as illustrated in Figure below is able to account for all possible processing alternatives, compare benefits and identify trade-offs of different processing alternatives with respect to certain objectives. The superstructure optimization has been used in several applications including chemical processes and wastewater treatment.
