JIIEE-UBAT Chapter Launches “EECARES” Community Program at General Assembly
Batangas City, Philippines – The Junior Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers - University of Batangas Chapter (JIIEE-UBAT) has taken a significant step toward community service and outreach with the launch of its official community program, “EECares.” The initiative, introduced during the General Assembly on August 19, 2024, aims to foster a spirit of compassion, solidarity, and service among electrical engineering students while addressing various community needs.
The program embodies the ethos of giving back to society and reflects the JIIEE-UBAT Chapter's commitment to making a positive impact beyond the campus. With the heartfelt tagline, “I care, You care, EECARES,” the program encourages all members and the wider community to actively participate in acts of kindness and support for those in need.
Program Goals and Initiatives:
EECARES is designed to involve students in a range of community service activities, focusing on education, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. Planned initiatives under EECARES include:
Educational Outreach: Conducting workshops and tutorials for elementary and high school students to spark interest in science and technology. This will include hands-on activities related to electrical engineering concepts, demonstrating practical applications, and inspiring future engineers.
Environmental Campaigns: Organizing tree-planting activities, clean-up drives, and awareness campaigns on energy conservation. These efforts aim to promote environmental sustainability and responsibility among students and community members alike.
Disaster Preparedness and Relief: Offering electrical safety training in disaster-prone areas and mobilizing resources for relief operations during emergencies. This aspect of EECARES aligns with the chapter’s goal to use its expertise to enhance community resilience.
A Commitment to Caring and Community Involvement:
The official launch of EECARES was met with enthusiasm and support from both students and faculty members. The initiative reflects the values and mission of JIIEE-UBAT to not only excel in the field of electrical engineering but also to play a vital role in societal development and well-being.
“EECARES is more than just a program; it’s a movement that calls each of us to action,” said Ms. Hazel Cadacio, one of the masters of the ceremony, during the launch. “With our skills and knowledge as future electrical engineers, we have the power to make a real difference in our community. Together, we can light up lives and bring hope to those who need it most.”
With the launch of EECARES, the JIIEE-UBAT Chapter stands ready to lead by example, showing that when everyone cares, real change happens. “I care, You care, EECARES”—together, they are poised to make a lasting impact in the community.
