Ideathon is open to all students of UBLC from Senior High School to College who aims to develop a scalable business model which solution answers the challenge of the contest.
There is no limit of registrants per college.
3. Participants shall be currently enrolled in UBLC.
Selection of CEO shall be through a series of time-based questionnaires that will be revealed during the contest proper. Sixty seconds shall be given for every word they need to find a similar meaning or relation.
ONLY five (5) CEOs shall be selected, the Top 5 participants who have the most relevant answers shall be defined as the “CEO”.
The CEO shall ONLY have one (1) hour to network with the other participants; finding other members who have skills in design, business plan, technology, and marketing.
The contest aims to form 5 groups consisting of students from different departments who have distinct skills.
Each group shall have the opportunity to select ONLY one (1) mentor whom they think the team will need to develop their business model.
Once each team has selected its respective mentor, each team shall have three (3) days ONLY to come up with a scalable solution. This shall be presented on the 3rd day of the event (December 7th in the morning) to the judges (potential industry investors).
The jury shall identify one (1) winner based on the following criteria:
a. Industry Relevance – 20%
b. Technical Feasibility – 20%
c. Economical feasibility – 20%
d. Originality of Business Idea – 20%
e. Responsible Innovation Quotient – 20%
Each group shall have a maximum of five (5) minutes to pitch their idea to the jury. Exceeding to the specified time limit shall incur less 10 points from the overall points garnered.
Each group can use any format of deck design following the criteria given above; not limited to any effects and audio-visual presentation.
The decision of the jury is final. NO appeal shall be admitted.
In case the winner is disqualified for any reason, the organizer is entitled to grant the award to another participant.
All mentoring sessions shall be done in the CBI conference room by schedule (kindly contact CBI for the scheduling). Participants shall bring their own laptops.
Mentors and teachers/professors shall no longer provide advice during the contest proper.
The winner shall receive a seed grant to start making their MVP (Minimum Viable Product). The seed grant shall be used for the pre-incubation program ONLY and shall not be converted to a cash prize.
The winner shall receive a cash price of P10,000 ONLY plus a seed grant for their formed idea as initial working capital.
The winner shall undergo a series of workshops, trainings, and mentoring sessions for 3 months to make their idea to fruition.
The winner shall be qualified for CBI’s Incubation Program.
All participants shall guarantee to the organizer that the content of the application and concept do/or not infringe the rights of third parties and it is not the object of any claim or actions of infringement, invalidity, or revocation.
The participants shall be fully responsible at all times for the protection of their intellectual property rights within the framework of their participation in the contest.
The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants at any time, and, if necessary, to strip the winner, in the event that the terms of the rules or Privacy Policy are not followed; or in the event of behavior that could harm the name and reputation of the university, directors, administrators, employees or fellow participants.
The organizer shall not incur liability in the event that force majeure or unforeseen circumstances against its will, harm the university and organizers of the contest.
The organizer shall not be liable in the following cases:
a. for any direct or indirect economic loss, loss of profits and business, loss of reputation, or any other loss of a candidate in connection with participating in the contest.
b. for not having selected a candidate
The rules and regulations may be modified or amended at any time by the organizer without prior notice. Any possible changes made to the rules shall enter into effect at the time they are published online on the CBI website.
Any modified or amended rules and regulations shall be reviewed by the committee of the contest.
Contest committee shall be represented by one (1) faculty representative of each department/college.
Any dispute pertaining to the contest shall be forwarded formally to the committee of the contest and CBI.
In order to participate in the Ideathon 2022, participants shall register on the CBI website at https://sites.google.com/ub.edu.ph/cbi-ideathon providing all information supporting the application.
2. The registration shall be sent on or before November 18, 2022, 4:00 PM. Late registration shall not be honored.
3. All registrants shall receive a confirmation email for validation that shall be presented at the registration booth during the event.
4. All confirmed participants shall be given an ID during the event.
Participation in the contest requires the submission of personal data relating to the identity of the participants.
The personal data provided by the participants in the context of the contest shall be considered classified and shall be used by CBI for program updates and internal references.
