In this session, you will learn how to use more of the Scratch scripts to animate sprites that you create using the Scratch drawing tools.

· Think about what parts of the scene would be moving if it were real-life? Would there be waves crashing on the shore? Would a hero be fighting evil in the movie?

1. Create a new project and start from an empty canvas
2. Use the Paint icon to paint a backdrop using the Scratch draw tools
3. Use the paint icon to paint the sprites in your scene
a. Use shapes, free drawing and any of the draw tools to create your scene
b. Experiment with converting from bitmap to vector modes to make changes
4. When you have the scene created, use scripts to animate the sprites in your scene
5. Be sure to use the Arts Challenge Rubric to make sure you earn all the possible points for this project
6. Answer the Wrap-up Questions in your design journal
· Start with only one of the elements in your sketch, animate it, and then add more components from your design into your project
· Ask an instructor or a friend for help
· Add sounds to elements in your art project
· Experiment with all of the drawing tools in Scratch to create new elements
· How did your design change as you were creating it? Did it get more or less detailed, or did it change completely?
· Did you demonstrated creativity in your art project design
