About us

Society of Exploration Geophysicists Universitas Brawijaya Student Chapter or often abbreviated as SEG UB SC is a non-profit organization based on science in the realm of geophysics. SEG UB SC has a movement direction in the field of geophysical exploration which focuses on mining exploration, oil and gas exploration, geothermal exploration, and so on. SEG UB SC was first established at Brawijaya University in 2006, and then inaugurated in 2009 under the Geophysical Engineering Study Program which is overseen by the Geophysics Student Association. The lecturer who played a role in helping to establish and is the supervisor of SEG UB SC is Prof. Sukir Maryanto, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D who currently plays the role of Faculty Advisor.

In this year's management, namely 2023, SEG UB SC is led by Adam Yudha Mutiara who is a Geophysical Engineering student Class of 2021. Currently, SEG UB SC has a management of 19 people consisting of Geophysical Engineering students from Brawijaya University. SEG UB SC consists of several divisions, namely the executive division, geoscience division, creative and social media division, and relations and development division. Then SEG UB SC was also coached and guided by members of SEG UB SC 2022 with the role of student counsel, which coincidentally this year was delegated to brother Dito Ibrahim Gumelar, a Geophysical Engineering student class of 2020.
