Introduction of Micro‐credentials into Higher Education Practices in South-East Asia: Barriers, Enablers, and Actions

The event brings together many different stakeholders for a roundtable to present the state of the art of micro-credentials development, by sharing the perception of micro-credentials in SEA region starting from the partner countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Leading academic experts, national/regional Qualification Agencies, and educational authorities, as well as representatives at policy level will explore the needed actions in terms of policy development and cooperation for the sake of standardization and mutual recognition of micro-credentials in the SEA region. Speakers will delve into the European Approach to Micro-credentials, as well as into the practices developed so far in Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines, thus enhancing the dialogue and the interconnections among the two regions.
The aim of the MICROCASA project is to share European experiences and build institutional capacities in Southeast Asia to co-create, promote, and deliver short competence-oriented educational units leading to micro-credentials with the goal of solving various economic and social problems.
