My name is Sophie and I am a senior at the Universal American School in Dubai. I am beyond ecstatic to be serving as the Secretary-General for UASMUN 2022. First discovering my love for diplomacy, international relations, and global affairs through debate, I have truly solidified these passions with the thrilling debates, unique memories, and unforgettable friendships I have made at the Model UN conferences I have attended. Thus, I am elated to lead the next iteration of UASMUN. I am certain that this conference will ignite a passion for diplomacy in every delegate that walks through the Universal American School doors, and urge everyone to get involved. Whether it is your first conference, or if you already have a pile of name tags and placards at home, I hope that UASMUN will create a rich weekend of discovery and discussion for all.

My name is Ali Motamedi and I am currently a senior at the Universal American School in Dubai. I will be serving as the chief of staff of the 2022 UASMUN. As of this year, I've spent approximately 4 years operating in varying capacities at our School's chapter of the MUN. My MUN journey has provided me with worthwhile lessons with regards to the manner in which one must present themselves, negotiate with others, and lobby effectively for the advancement of their interests. As the 2022 UAS MUN's chief of staff, I hope to bestow some of my wisdom onto up and coming generations of delegates with the hopes that they are able to refine their diplomatic abilities and attain greatness. The 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, once proclaimed that we have to "think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone". I reciprocate such sentiments.

Hello! I am Sharelle Halabi, a junior at the Universal American School - Dubai and I will be serving as your Director-General. Entering my third year in the Model United Nations circuit, I cannot begin to describe how MUN has utterly transformed my naive view of the world and its current issues providing me with a great sense of maturity and insightfulness. Throughout the years, not only have I learnt the great roles that countries and their politics play in present circumstances, but I have also acquired the skill of public speaking from which I have understood and learnt the cruciality of perseverance. From inciting a love for world affairs to enabling me with the power of speech and debate, MUN has shaped me into who I am today, and I am forever grateful. I hope that everyone can immerse themselves over this weekend and forge unforgettable memories as well as experiences which will aid them beyond the field of Model UN.

My name is Dana Zabian and I am a junior at the Universal American School in Dubai. I will be serving as the Deputy Secretary-General of this year’s UASMUN. I’ve been a member of a slew of MUN chapters across my academic career. My MUN journey has granted me a great deal of insight as to the nuances of international relations and the appropriate manner in which one must conduct themselves to attain their objectives. As the 2022 UAS MUN's Deputy Secretary-General, I plan on assisting the Secretary-General in addressing various organizational and logistical concerns surrounding the event and to engage with students personally. I feel as though it is imperative that prospective delegates receive the most accurate simulation of international relations as possible and hone their abilities and develop their interpersonal skills during such MUN conferences. If we are to facilitate world order and peace, it is paramount that we nurture and guide a modern generation of articulate and level-headed delegates.

Hi! My name is Yasmin Shahin, and I will be serving as your UASMUN 2022 Deputy Secretary General. I have always had a profound love for Model United Nations and it has quite honestly run through the entirety of my family. I remember how my father was helping my older cousin write her first ever position paper, I sat myself down next to them and decided that with my little knowledge on international relations- I was going to help; ever since, MUN has taken a big place in my heart. I participate yearly in the WIMUN conference, and have won best speaker awards as well as best position paper awards multiple years in a row. However I have come to a realization that MUN is not only about global affairs, but MUN is a chance to build lifelong bonds, friendships, and is a gateway many opportunities in knowledge; UASMUN hopes to be able to live up to that and open doors to beautiful friendships, powerful knowledge, and most importantly, self pride.

My name is Rabih and I am currently a junior at the Universal American School in Dubai. I am beyond honored to be serving as Under Secretary-General of Logistics & Finance for this iteration of UASMUN. After participating in MUN last year, I have developed an admiration for the world of politics and international relations through my participation in several conferences which has made me finally come to realize that I want to discover more of the intricacies of MUN. I am eternally grateful for the invaluable knowledge I have gained within the realms of debates and speeches. Furthermore, through my exploration of finance on my personal life, I am thrilled to combine both interests of for UASMUN 2022 which I hope, will provide you with an engaging, enriching and unforgettable experience that is nothing short of extraordinary!

Hello! My Name is Dalia Mustafa, and I am the current Head of Press for MUN at Universal American School of Dubai. I have always been intrigued by the experience MUN offers, and I greatly enjoyed being a delegate at the New York conference last year. Although the event was held over zoom, I was still offered the opportunity to interact with so many other passionate students. They were encouraging and enthusiastic, and I am grateful that they showed me the ropes with patience. The endeavor strengthened my diplomatic, communication, and organizational skills and I want to help offer the same to our new delegates!

My name is Habiba Kapadia and I will be serving as the Co-Head of Press for the UASMUN 2022. I am currently a senior in high school at the Universal American School in Dubai, and this is the first Model UN that I will be attending. I have always been interested in the MUN experience and the takeaways from it, and this year I have the opportunity to be a part of it. This role will hopefully combine two of my avid interests: political affairs, and media. As the Head of Press, I will be able to document and advertise this event for what it truly stands for, and showcase the learning experiences that students will gain from it. I am honored and thrilled to be a part of this event and am looking forward to the opportunities it presents me with.
