Keep a planner - digital or paper. It is important to keep track of what is due the next day or larger project due dates that are coming up. It will help you not miss deadlines but also manage your time wisely. Many times we think we will remember, but that is not the case, help yourself - write it down!
Build a relationship with your teachers! They are here to help and support you. If you are not comfortable speaking up over zoom, send them an email or ask to schedule a one on one time.
Make it a habit to check your email at least once daily. We’d even suggest checking it once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Have a dedicated space to do your school work. This might be a desk in your room, basement or kitchen table. Having a work space organized with essentials like pencils, highlighters, paper, and calculator. Make sure your iPad is updated and charged.
You also might want to print and have hard copies of digital notes or assignments and keep them organized in a binder to make reviewing and studying easier.
Even if you don’t have a test coming up, get in the habit of studying or reviewing your notes and information daily. This will save you time in the long run and help you truly understand what is being taught. Putting into practice good study habits is a game changer! If you haven’t found study strategies that work for you, try new ones out and ask peers and teachers for new strategies to try.
Remember that this online learning will not be the same as your face to face classes, so don't expect it to be. Grant yourself, your parents and your teachers grace. We are all learning about new technology daily and we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER:)
When you are working on school work- remove distractions so you can focus. You will save tons of time if you are focused.
Connections are still important- don't isolate yourself. While you can't see your friends face to face daily, be sure you are still communicating with them through, texts, Face time, instagram, Snap Chat or however you connect.
