I am an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. My research is dedicated to advancing the resilience and sustainability of the built environment through two integrated areas: (1) Performance-based design for resilient infrastructure, and (2) Structural health monitoring and information integration. My work focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical reliability and real-world structural safety. The impact of my work has been recognized at the national level. I am currently a Level II member of the National System of Researchers (SNII) under SECIHTI, one of the highest honors for scholars in Mexico. This designation reflects a sustained record of high-impact research, international collaboration, and a commitment to advancing the field of civil engineering. Beyond research, I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of civil engineers, teaching advanced courses in probability, steel, and concrete design. I am also an active member of ASCE, SMIE, and CICSAC staying at the forefront of global structural engineering standards.
