I’m very excited about the next chapter in both my academic and professional careers. My goals as a new media associate professor are to be able to contribute to and lead interdisciplinary teams, support my students, and contribute to faculty development.

In a digital world, social media technologies have become the primary mode of communication for almost all of us, forming the basis of how we share, connect, and find news. I believe that social media technologies have added a new dimension to our communication by allowing us to connect with people on a deeper level, in ways that were not possible in the past. I am also reasonably certain they have contributed to a more informed, curious, and engaged population. However, the social media technologies are not without their downside.
