To commemorate the School of Management's 25th anniversary in 2022 and recognize its graduates' accomplishments, the school developed the UA&P Helm Awards.
The helm, which serves as SMN's official logo, is a nautical steering wheel used to navigate a ship. It metaphorically to refers to someone in a position of authority, control, or leadership.
Purpose
The UA&P Helm Awards recognizes alumni who have made important contribution to society and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have upheld the institution's tradition of excellence. It also highlights the institution's impact to the local, national, and international communities.
The award program reflects the distinctive culture through its vision and mission, curriculum, and student involvement, boosting the self-worth of all students—past and present, staff, professors, and administration.
To be eligible for the award, all nominees must meet the criteria mentioned below, in addition to their successful careers:
Honesty / Integrity - the nominee should have unquestionable moral and personal integrity.
Excellence in Leadership – the nominee must have exhibited excellence in leadership competencies which are essential in accomplishing the work for which they are being recognized.
Legendary Impact – the nominee's work must have a remarkable, positive, and constructive effect on the community, geographic area, or sector in which it is located. The nominee's long-term and transformative effort must be demonstrated and must have a multiplier effect.
Motivating Effect – the nominee's work and/or accomplishments must have inspired and empowered the local, national, or global community to positive action. He or she must have exhibited a dedication to service by demonstrating an interest in improving others' lives.

The categories for UA&P Helm Awards 2022 are as follows:
UA&P Helm Alumni Achievement Award (National/International Level) - for those with exceptional achievements on a national or international level.
UA&P Helm Alumni Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship - for forward thinkers and entrepreneurs.
UA&P Helm Alumni Award for Community Engagement and Social Advocacy – for those engaged in voluntarism, social work, business inclusion, and grassroots development.
UA&P Helm Alumni Award for Professional Achievement - for those who have excelled in the corporate world, research, and other related professional fields, etc.
1. Nominees must be nominated by a third party (e.g., employer, colleague, ex-colleague). School of Management employees cannot nominate or be nominated.
2. Nominators must submit a duly accomplished nomination form which can be downloaded below.
3. Nominators may nominate as many qualified alumni as possible.
4. Nominees may be nominated in multiple categories, but can only win in one.
5. In addition to the Nomination Form, nominators are encouraged to provide supporting documents that further distinguish the nominee. Such items include, but are not limited to the following:
• Proof of outstanding achievements (copy of certificates, plaque citations, published articles on awards or recognition)
• High-quality photos of the shortlisted nominee. (Portrait or close-up photos, and/or action pictures related to work of field)
Filled-out nomination form with all the required documents must be submitted to Ms. Jennifer Guimare at <helm_awards@uap.asia> on or before September 12, 2022. All submissions received after that date will be considered entries for the following year.
