Ateneo de Manila University
This university is a private institution owned and managed by the Society of Jesus. It provides basic and higher education and engages in research in a wide variety of fields. It began in 1859, after the return of the Jesuits, as Manila's municipal school. During the US occupation, Ateneo de Manila became a private institution. In 1969, in the newly-independent Philippines, Ateneo became a university. It is one of several Jesuit-run universities in the islands. It has twelve schools which cluster into three units. 1) The Loyola Schools consisting of the School of Humanities, School of Science and Engineering, School of Social Sciences, John Gokongwei School of Management, John Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design. 2) Professional Schools, consisting of the Ateneo School of Law, the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, and the Ateneo School of Government. 3) Basic education, consisting of the Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School and the Loyola School of Theology. The university offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. To advance knowledge, the university has encouraged the formation of research centers on its campuses which have active links with government, industry and other research centers both locally and abroad. It also has varied programs to connect with marginalized communities all over the country. De La Salle University-Dasmariñas
De La Salle University-Dasmariñas is a Filipino Catholic University established and managed by the De La Salle Brothers and their lay partners in the historic province of Cavite in response to the needs of the Church and the Nation for human and Christian education, particularly the youth at risk.
Guided by the Lasallian values of Faith, Zeal and Communion, the University participates meaningfully in the process of social transformation by forming God-centered, people-oriented, and patriotic persons who serve as responsible and professionally competent stewards of God's creation.
To realize this vision, the University shall strive to become a leading institution nationally and globally in the integral formation of the youth by offering relevant, responsive, and community-oriented academic programs, research and extension services, and promoting a keen sense of history, arts and culture.

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning. It traces its beginnings to the Center for Research and Communication (CRC), which was established in 1967 as a private think tank that conducted research and offered graduate courses in economics and management. It gradually expanded its educational activities to other fields. In 1995, it was granted university status; since then it has been known as the University of Asia and the Pacific.
UA&P endeavors to give its students a whole-person education, which includes the pursuit of Christian ideals, with the aspiration to form individuals who are professionally competent and can act as positive agents of change and service to society. To this end, in UA&P the various fields of specialization are founded on a strong liberal arts education. The university strives to imbue its institutional teaching and research and service programs and activities with the spirit and Christian ideals of Opus Dei as taught and lived by its Founder, St. Josemaría Escrivá.
UA&P, located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, has long-term plans for a multi-campus system. At present it has five Schools (Communication, Economics, Education and Human Capital, Management, Law and Governance, Science and Engineering) and the College of Arts and Sciences.
University of the East
The University of the East (UE) is one of the Philippines' leading universities, having produced, for 75 years as of September 2021, over a million alumni who have made their mark as leaders and achievers across the country and around the world.
UE has its main campus in the city of Manila, with UE Manila having the UE Graduate School (GS), the UE Colleges of Law (CLaw), Dentistry (CDent), Arts and Sciences (CAS), Business Administration (CBA), Computer Studies and Systems (CCSS), Education (CEduc) and Engineering (CEng'g). UE has a second campus in Caloocan City, with UE Caloocan having its own Colleges of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Business Administration (CBA), and Engineering (CEng'g), along with the UE College of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design (CFAD). Moreover, both UE campuses are certified as Autonomous Universities by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

University of the Philippines
On June 18, 1908, the University of the Philippines (UP) was founded through Act No. 1870 of the Philippine Assembly. It was meant to fill the need to meet the increasing demands for instruction in the higher levels of learning and to provide professional studies in medicine, law, engineering or applied sciences.
Through the past 114 years, the University of the Philippines has evolved into a "University for the Filipino." playing a role in shaping the nation's political and social consciousness and helping define the national identity.
Since its founding, the University has produced: 39 National Scientists; 40 National Artists; two National Social Scientists; seven out of the 16 Presidents of the Republic; 15 Chief Justices of the Supreme Court; and, tens of thousands of doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers serving in the country and abroad, as well as hundreds of thousands of graduates in other academic fields.
By 2017, when Danilo L. Concepcion became the 21st UP President, the University of the Philippines had grown into a University System of eight constituent universities located in 17 campuses throughout the country. Under its Charter of 2008, UP is mandated to perform its distinctive leadership in higher education and development in multiple roles: as a teaching university, a graduate university, a research university, a public service university, and as a regional and global university.
UP continues to grow and expand, building cutting-edge facilities and improving existing ones to create an optimal environment for learning and knowledge creation. UP scientists and researchers continue to harness their research to meet the needs of Philippine industries, communities, and the general public. UP students also continue to win recognition in national and international circles in every field, from science and engineering to music and the arts.
University of Santo Tomas
The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, the Catholic University of the Philippines, is a Dominican institution of learning founded in 1611. With 22 degree-granting academic units and over 40,000 students enrolled, it became the first University in the country to secure a five-star rating from the international education network Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in 2021. UST is also the only higher education institution to have the highest number of accredited programs by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
In its 411-year history, UST has produced competent, committed, and compassionate graduates who became saints and martyrs, chief justices, award-winning writers, researchers, and national artists. Included within its honored alumni are four Philippine presidents and the national hero Jose Rizal. Four landmarks and one set of documents housed within its Manila campus have been declared National Cultural Treasures by the National Museum.
New campuses are currently rising in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and General Santos City, South Cotabato. Through these new locations, and the Enriched Virtual Mode of Learning, UST will continue to provide more people with quality Catholic education.
