That's right - I finally have the prototype finished, never mind that I'm 23 days behind schedule. In the game, you can now collect items, start and finish trades, drop items off in the chest in your house, and refer to your list of supplies to see how much more you need to collect. A Forager's Quest has come so far!
Next up on my to-do list is the demo, which means I now have to start building out the world! Additionally, I have to draw some more NPCs and such.
On the marketing side of things, yesterday I hit 60 followers on Instagram! I must say, I'm surprised at how much better Instagram is working for me than Twitter. Other than that, I haven't been doing much marketing besides posting my (mostly) daily progress.
I think that's all the updates I have for this week! This weekend I may be participating in the GMTK jam, but it all depends on the theme. Until next time, everyone!
With the end of May comes the end of the first month of development on A Forager's Quest! I'm a little behind schedule but that should be fine (I hope).
Now, on to the new updates! This past week I finally put the finishing touches on the inventory system! I also finished most of the item storage system!
On the marketing side of things, this week I sent my first monthly newsletter to my mailing list! You can join the list here.
If you would like more detail, read my tweets.
That's all the updates for this week! Next, I need to work on the quest system and build out the world map. Stick around for more news!
Hey everyone, just a small website update for you! I've added a gallery page, so you can know view some of my screenshots, GIFs, and YouTube videos! Enjoy!
Time for another update on A Forager's Quest! This past week I've been working on a lot of marketing. I am now active on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and this website! You can find all my links here.
I haven't made any significant progress in the programming side of development, but I'll have more time to work on it soon!
I bought a domain today! I officially own panaceastudiony.com. Exciting! I've also started designing a business card so that I can conspicuously drop them everywhere. I might be spending more time building my brand than working on A Forager's Quest!
I've also created a discord server, which I don't expect to become very big. You can join it here.
Thanks for reading! I'll be back next week with more updates(but I post daily updates on Twitter, hint hint...)
Another update on my first game! I’ve started programming, and am currently working on the inventory and quest systems. Also, I’ve decided to call the game A Forager’s Quest!
I began working on marketing today, which is an interesting experience as I’ve never done it before.
I’m on the ninth day out of 90, so 10% done! I’m really looking forward to releasing this game.
If you would like to see some screenshots, check out my Twitter.
That’s all the news I have for today. I’m hoping for the prototype to be done soon, so stay tuned!
Today was the first day of the 90 Days & Ship it! jam. I have decided to make a small, open-world exploration game about a rabbit collecting ingredients and supplies for a big family meal. Today I just worked on planning the design of the game, which I will finish tomorrow. I'm hoping to start programming tomorrow as well. That's all for now. Screenshots coming soon!
This month, I am hoping to begin development on my first commercial game as part of the 90 Days & Ship It! game jam hosted by Game Endeavor. In this jam, you have 90 days to develop, market, and release a game. I'm considering making a complete version of the game that I made for Ludum Dare 48, which you can play here.
I have also started doing Pixel Dailies, so follow me on twitter to watch my pixel art skills improve.
That's all for now. More updates coming soon!
