Prospective Students
Financial assistance is available for qualified graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels) on a competitive basis.
To qualify, you must:
have a degree from an internationally well-known academic institution;
have a strong background in power engineering with a very high GPA and be in the top 5% of your class;
have good programming/simulation skills (MATLAB, PSCAD, C/C++, etc.), previous experimental work experience is not mandatory, but it is desirable;
meet English language proficiency requirements (e.g., a TOEFL score of 92 (IBT) with a minimum of 21 on each section), and more importantly
be self-motivated and have a strong interest in producing publishable new results in your area of research.

If you meet the above requirements, please email me (in PDF format) your CV, copies of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (if applicable) transcripts, a list of publications, a brief description of research experience, and a research statement. In your CV, indicate your immigration status (Canadian, permanent resident, or international). In addition, please indicate if you hold, have applied for, or plan to apply for any funding or scholarship (e.g., NSERC, international external funding, etc.) Successful candidates will be invited to apply for graduate studies in the ECE Department at the University of Alberta.
