The MD Program

Serving the public good through excellence in medical education, research, and patient care.

With an innovative curriculum and a focus on social accountability, the MD program at the University of Alberta prepares today’s medical students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

MD Program Volunteer Opportunities

Community volunteers are a vital part of the MD Program!

The MD Program is grateful to the many individuals living in the greater Edmonton community who make a unique and valuable contribution by volunteering as Patient Mentors and in other roles to help our medical students become skilled, caring, and compassionate practitioners.

Arts & Humanities in Health & Medicine (AHHM)

Inspiring hearts and minds!

Established in 2006, the AHHM program in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry offers explicit recognition that clinical practice is both an art and a science. AHHM recognizes the many relationships that exist between the arts, humanities, social sciences, and medicine.
