This project is in the shape of a liver as it represents the life-saving treatment the patient received. The liver is composed of images that showcase the life the liver allowed the patient to lead. The scalpel, outlined between the images and the liver, represents the role of surgical treatment in creating the whole. These elements are bound together to show that neither can exist independently. It illustrates how fundamentally tied together the treatment is with the patient experience. The complex and detailed backdrop of the patient life outside the illness is juxtaposed by the simplicity of the liver. This shows that despite the vital role of treatment for the patient, it is not what defines the individual's life.
