Team Members
Skye Haggerty
Haggerty is a scholar of Métis descent and a graduate student at the University of Alberta (thesis-based MA in the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture). Her area of study focuses on Indigenous material cultures, needlework, and cultural landscapes.
Andrea Korda
Korda is a settler scholar of Eastern European Jewish descent who researches 19th-century visual and material cultures. She is Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Faculty and co-organizer of the Crafting Communities project and the Prairie Art Network.
Lianne McTavish
McTavish is a settler scholar of Scottish descent who researches early modern visual culture, the history of medicine, and the history of the body. A Professor of the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture at the University of Alberta, she also specializes in critical museum theory and history, with a particular focus on small museums in Canada.
Mary Pinkoski
Pinkoski is a settler scholar of Irish, French-Canadian and American descent, specializing in adult, community, and higher education. A doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta, she has worked as a public interpreter in local museums. Named Poet Laureate of the City of Edmonton (2013-2015), Pinkoski is an internationally-recognized poet and arts educator.
Erin Sutherland
Sutherland is a scholar of Métis and settler descent and Associate Professor in Art & Art History at the University of Calgary. She specializes in Indigenous and Canadian visual art and material culture, performance art history and theory, and museum studies.
Heather Caverhill
Caverhill is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alberta. She studies nineteenth- and twentieth-century art and photography in the North American West. She has curated exhibitions of art and photography at Presentation House Gallery (North Vancouver) and the Museum of the Plains Indian (Browning, Montana).
