Application Process

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The Solid Organ Transplant Fellowship training program accepts both Canadian and International applicants. International trainee applicants must be able to obtain a Government of Canada Work Permit before the fellowship can begin. The following application documents are required:

• Letter of Intent Outlining Career Goals

• Curriculum Vitae (CV) (updated within 6 months of application)

• 3 Reference Letters, signed and on letterhead

• Copy of Passport

• Proof of ELP to satisfy the CPSA requirements

• Proof of Funding if sponsored

Sponsored Applicants

Postgraduate training agreements for residency and fellowship positions are currently in place between the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and sponsoring agencies from the following:

• Bahrain Defense Force Royal Medical Services

• Istanbul Medical Centre

• Kuwait Ministry of Health

• Oman Medical Specialty Board

• Ministry of Higher Education Saudi Arabia (Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in Canada)

• Ministry of Higher Education United Arab Emirates

To submit an application as a applicant sponsored by one of the above agencies, your SPONSOR is required to submit application documents on your behalf to both the PGME office at pgspon@ualberta.ca in addition to submitting the above application requirements directly to the program through our application form link.

Funding

A limited number of funded spots are available and this is a competitive process. Applicants with independent funding will only be considered provided they have written proof of funding. All applicants must indicate their funding status on the application form.
