What is this Symposium?
Hello, and thank you for your interest in our event! I am Grace Nicoll, a PhD candidate in History at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. It is my privilege to once again host a symposium on the premodern world. For anyone interested in the medieval period, this is an exciting opportunity to listen to nine unique presentations from emerging and well-established medieval historians. This year, we are featuring scholars from the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and the University of Leeds.
Please take a look at the listed schedule to see details on our featured sessions and presentations. Come and learn about the fascinating world of the the Middle Ages, from bizarre Christian saints and Norse sagas to the medicinal practices of medieval India to rabbinic Jewish lore in late antique Mesopotamia.
