The theme of our project is to explore the many aspects of the community that are crucial in supporting a patient with a chronic illness. When patients find out about their chronic illness, they are tasked with learning to navigate the healthcare system. With this comes unforeseen challenges and obstacles that they must overcome and new daily routines that they must engage in to manage their chronic illness. This is represented by the experience of learning to knit, problem-solving and the repetitive nature of knitting the Blanket of Support.
