Ximena Fleming
Lab Manager
Projects: I have many projects, I am usually the one who repeats experiments or finishes experiments for publications.
Research interests: immunology, virology, cell biology.
Hobbies: I love to read and cook but my main interest and hobby outside work is being the best mom I could be for my kids.
Janet Sperling
Affiliated Researcher, PhD
Projects: My research focusses on the bacteria associated with ticks. Detection of tick-borne pathogens in a complex mixture of other bacteria is critical for understanding disease risk. I am currently the president of the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation and an advisor to the G. Magnotta Foundation.
Hobbies: When I'm not in the lab, I love skiing and sailing and spending time with family.
Mirza Kazbekov
Research Assistant, MSc
Project(s): Duck RIPLET and RIG-I activation in chicken cells.
Research interests: Molecular and Cellular Immunology, Virology.
Hobbies: biking, bird-watching, walking, learning to play piano:)
RJ Legaspi
PhD student
Project: Identifying RIG-I interactors in ducks and investigating the role of lncRNA
Research interests: Bioinformatics and genomics
Brooklyn Osborne
MSc student
Degree program: MSc in Physiology, Cell, and Developmental Biology
Project: Exploring interactions between influenza NS1 and RIPLET in humans and ducks
Research interests: Comparative immunology, virology
Alison Lee You Voon
