We are working with the City of Edmonton to support it's "New Urban Trees and Naturalization" project! The collaboration focuses on promoting inclusive and accessible outdoor recreational opportunities for for Black, and People of Color (BPoC) below the poverty line.
This study sort to examine the distribution of bike lanes in varying socio-economic residential contexts in Edmonton, relative to optimum routes to parks.
Pioneering research in collaboration with ed-tech organizations to investigate experiences of marginalized groups on digital leisure spaces (e.g., gamified e-learning platforms)
Research focused on understanding the barriers to leisure participation among students that identify as visible minorities.
Research focused on sharing insights from applying justice as a theoretical lens to facilitating access to recreational activities (e.g., swimming, fishing, and canoeing), in freshwater environments in the global south.
