What interests me about multiphase flows like atomization is that you can look at them from a very fundamental point of view but still translate that quite easily to real world and industrial problems. Almost everywhere you look, you'll find evidence of an atomization process, from rain and mist off of sea waves, to the paint on cars and many of the products we use daily. This makes my research really rewarding for me because I get to keep on learning about fundamental sciences while also contributing to society by using that understanding to design process with less waste or by understanding how fluids moving around our atmosphere impact our environment.
