Gabriel Hanna received his BSc (Honours) in Chemistry from Laurentian University in 2001 and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto in 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Raymond Kapral. His doctoral research focused on developing and applying mixed quantum-classical techniques to simulate proton transfer reactions in condensed-phase systems. From 2006 to 2009, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, working with Prof. Eitan Geva on mixed quantum-classical methodologies for simulating multidimensional infrared spectra. He joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alberta as a faculty member in August 2009.
