Our long-term objectives are to assess how fundamental colloidal and surface interactions influence aquatic contaminant transport and the subsequent environmental impacts. Currently, we're focused on a few complementary aims:

1) The detection, weathering, and impact of microplastics and nanoplastics

2) The environmental implications of engineered nanomaterial and colloid release and transport

3) Engineered nanomaterial photoreactivity

As members of the University of Alberta community, we respectfully acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional gathering place for diverse Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Metis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, Inuit, and many others whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence our vibrant community.
