FCC Attendee Information

Thank you for your interest in attending the Federal Court of Canada hearing taking place in the Faculty of Law next Tuesday, October 27 at 2PM.

A few things to note after you have received a confirmation of attendance from Dr. Fieldberg:

1. We will likely be provided with the parties' court documents ahead of time so that you may review the details of the case prior to attending. You are not required to do so, but reading the court documents might give you a better sense of what's happening on the day. As soon as I receive those documents, I will forward them to you. 

2. There will be security screening prior to entering the moot courtroom. A security officer from the court will be using a hand wand to check for metal. I believe this is similar to what happens at the airport or when you go into a sporting event such as an Oilers game. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please don't hesitate to contact me. 

3. Please be at the courtroom no later than 1:45 so that you can be screened and take your seat for the 2PM start. Dress is business casual. 

4. The hearing will take place from 2 to 3:30 and then there will be time for a Q&A with Justice Kane from 3:30 to 4PM. 

5. You may get an email similar to this later this week, as additional students sign up for the event.
