Join us for the 11th annual CRINA Research Day, an event designed to showcase cancer research at the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services.
This year, we’ll be at the Edmonton Convention Centre in order to accommodate our growing audience of researchers, trainees, clinicians, and patient partners. This move allows us to expand our programming to include more trainee posters and oral presentations. All trainees are encouraged to submit a cancer-related abstract.
The 2025 theme, Artificial Intelligence in Cancer, explores how AI technologies are transforming every stage of the cancer research pipeline, from discovery to treatment. We are excited to welcome Dr. Benjamin Haibe-Kains (University of Toronto), as our keynote speaker and expert panelist. Dr. Haibe-Kains’ research focuses on integrating high-throughput data from various sources to jointly analyze multiple facets of cancer progression and therapy response using machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. His team analyzes large-scale chemical, radiological and (pharmaco)genomic datasets to develop new therapeutics, prognostic and predictive models to improve cancer care.
Our panel discussion this year is also AI-focused, and will feature Drs. Haibe-Kains, Xingyu Li, Ross Mitchell, Emily Walker, and Paula Robson (moderator) who will discuss current advances and challenges and answer your questions about leveraging AI in basic and clinical cancer research.
Whether you are a researcher, trainee, clinician, or patient partner, this year’s CRINA Research Day will offer a unique opportunity to connect and exchange ideas.
