CanQueue 2018

Welcome to the website of the 2018 edition of the CanQueue workshop, which will be held Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th in Edmonton, Alberta, at the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta.

This year's Canqueue is special in that it celebrates two milestones. First, it is the 20th annual meeting of the series of workshops on the theory of queues and their applications. The first workshop was held in Winnipeg in 1999, and the name CanQueue has been associated with these meetings since the 2000 edition in London, Ontario.

The second milestone we will recognize is the 80th birthday in 2018 of a leader in the field of Canadian queueing: Prof. Winfried Grassmann, whose renown extends to the international applied probability community. This year's meeting will feature a session on areas such as the solution of structured Markov chains where he has had such an impact, and a review presentation of his career's work.

Submissions from faculty members and graduate students will be warmly received. Please email abstracts and registration information to the conference chair, Prof. Armann Ingolfsson (armann.ingolfsson@ualberta.ca) of the Alberta Business School at the University of Alberta, as instructed on the Registration tab on this website.
