Anth-Help

University of Alberta Anthropology Mentorship Program

We are a mentorship program that aims to connect students together. Are you a student interested in anthropology? Want to talk with a student who has experience in the field?

This program is designed to connect potential, current, or interested students with undergraduate and graduate students currently in the department of Anthropology at the University of Alberta, to get advice on things like graduate school applications, preparing a resume, getting involved in a lab, field schools, or other volunteer opportunities, being an international student, presenting at conferences, and so much more. You have questions, and we have students who are happy to talk about their experiences.

Anth-Help is entering its fourth year of mentorship and has helped high school, undergraduate and graduate students from Canadian and International contexts. We began as a portfolio under the Association of Graduate Anthropology Students (AGAS) and grew into a partnership with the University of Alberta Anthropology Undergraduates (UAAU) and Department of Anthropology. Together we are helping more students feel comfortable in their programs, know more options for their education, and prepare them for potential careers.
